Analysis: Khoukhi made his third consecutive start at this World Cup, once again occupying a space in central defense. It was another poor defensive performance from a team perspective as Khoukhi and his teammates conceded three goals, bringing their total up to 10 through three group stage matches. He finished the made with five clearances, two blocked shots and one tackle, doing his best to mitigate the damage inflicted by the Bosnia and Herzegovina attack. Given he is 36 years old and his nation were just eliminated from the competition, there is a good chance this was his final World Cup appearance.

He repeatedly protected the penalty area as Canada generated wave after wave of attacks, particularly after Qatar were reduced to ten men and nine men subsequently. He was forced into last-ditch interventions as Canada's forwards relentlessly kept up their attack.
